A day, a year later (part deux)

Bismillah..

For some reason I open my blog couple of days from the post “a day, a year later”

Where making decisions, trying not to have regrets seem to be the issues I have to deal with before. Not that it’s not an issue now, but I think I’ve slowly started to believe that if you follow the correct guidelines in making a decision, there’ll be no room for regrets. True that ‘regret’ should not be in a muslim’s dictionary but one can’t help to feel so when one does not put his/her full trust in Allah, thinking anything happened is due to one’s own effort/doings.

It’s not more of an issue I’m having right now but I think self-improvement is something that I’m working on right now. I’m affected by something that Yasmin Mogahed said during the Marriage Conference last weekend *blush*. Hey! For all that matters, I got a free ticket to go there. Besides, it’s a good knowledge to take in whether you’re married or soon to get married or single. Good knowledge for future reference in my opinion :D

In her talks, Yasmin Mogahed said,

You can’t expect to go into a relationship empty and expect to be filled inside. Just like a beggar who doesn’t have anything will only know to ask from people yet unable to give anything in return.
You can’t expect to be filled emotionally/spiritually by asking the creation. Only the Creator that is able to fill you up inside.
Find the Creator to not make you empty inside. That way you’ll be able to give back to others

So here’s to a better and improve me inshaAllah. I’ll come and check back a day, a year later :P

Ps: previous posts seem to be waaaaay melancholic than I thought. Even I feel depressed re-reading them. Gosh! What happened before Sarah? Haha

Shine bright, shall we?

Dear you.

If who you’re with shaped how you act.
Like a chameleon.
Changing colours in a particular environment among that group of people.
And yet, you change to fit with others in a different environment.
Such different colour you have there.
At times, you are brighter than the others. Or sometimes, you’re just plain old grey.
The only time you being you is when you’re alone.
No one knows the true you.
That one particular colour.
Can you say that you’re being your true self?
When the only one that knows the answer is only..
you.

Not judgmental

When one went through a situation/bad experience, will one either (given that on 2nd time the role is reversed):
a. repeat the same action others did on the situation
b. improvise as one would not want others to experience the same bad situation again.

And I wonder what affects one's action on the situation. Upbringing? People around? Or their own conscience?

And so I wonder.

for greater good or simply blergh? *cred image to tumblr*

Anjing dan kucing

Terlalu banyak bezanya.
.
.
.

.
.
Tak semua perlu dicakap. Cukup based on conscience.

Dulu jalan balik sekali. Sekarang dah sunyi sepi.

Akhir bulan nak pergi hospital. Rasa nak pengsan. Nak cerita apa dgn doktor?

Bangi ni dah lama xhujan. Rindu jugak nak dengar hujan lebat guruh petir.

Retainer dah siap. Terbang lagi RM200. Salah sendiri.

Kau selalu buli aku. Tapi kau baik. Thank you.

Nak harapkan bertahun2? Entah berbulan pun tak boleh.

Kalau mintak set yg baru, kau nak tak? Macam tak je.

Tak nak balik lagi boleh? Memori indah tak cukup lagi.

Cousin baru tak puas main lagi. Welcome to the world Muhammad.

Midnight blues

Playing my favorite songs in the middle of the night while waiting for Naruto to buffer. My favorite Friday night activities. Where you can curl up on the bed with a mug of steaming hot chocolate. Yumm.

And of course, everytime I play 'Back to December' in the middle of the night is the time I miss my family the most. :(

Basically, I am not much of a queen bee. Not cool and pretty enough to be one and not great enough to be surrounded by friends at all times. I am not much of a talker. So I find it hard to make friends sometimes. But when I do, I think the world of you.

But no matter how great your friends are, it never beats how important family is. No matter how great your friends' advices are, I still think your mom has the best advice. Ever. It can be annoying sometimes when she's being all pushy and looks like she's being judgmental and doesn't understand you at times. But later on, you'll be thanking her for nagging at you all this while. It's good if you have such great friends giving you great advices all the times. But what good will it gives if you didn't listen to your own mom. Righttt? For some, this might not be such a big issue to discuss. But being far away from home, surrounded only by your friends, you'll start to appreciate your family even more. I miss having someone making breakfast in the morning. I miss hearing my mom's snide remarks on my lack of house chores practices. And I even miss hearing both my sister and brother fighting over a remote control.

So, take note. Friends come and go. I think you notice it too. But your family will never walk away from you. And surely neither your mom. And your dad too of course.

Love,
A daughter who misses hearing her mom's nagging and getting angry at her at times.

p/s: Syasya and Nina, get well soon. After that, let mom rest for a while. She looks dead on her feet the last time we skyped.
pp/s: Don't get me wrong. I appreciate those who I call friends. I think the world of you guys.

'tis a season to be jolly.

My fall semester has officially ended. Today. And yes, I survive from all those piled-up works mercilessly assigned for the past 4 months.
Note: I took overload courses this semester, with six core subjects from the usual fours and fives. So, surviving this semester is a huge achievement from my part. Sans the result part of course.

So, what's better than a shopping spree to mark the end of the semester with hands full of shopping bags and a slightly lighter purse right? Not! I forget that it's winter now and no, I didn't find anything to my liking. Except for stuffs in Lush. It really lifts your spirits up with all those sweet, sickly scented stuffs.
It's cute isn't it? No, I only buy the face mask.

And it'll be a couple of days of freedom before they posted the results. Two of them have already come out even before I'm done with my other papers. I can only say alhamdulillah. It can be a lot worse than that. I'll be waiting for the other two subjects *remember, i'm taking 6 subjects? another two will be continued next year*. So, no rush prof.

p/s: 'tis a season to be jolly. you're not someone significant in my life. Your presence won't burst my happy bubbles. Prick one, but I have lots of 'em!
pp/s: it's not what i call a perfect shopping outing. but thank you people. :')

Much love.

One of those times

Hai assalamualaikum..

Of being a doctor:
  1. You have a chance of working at your 'dream' hospital
  2. It's actually what you dream of doing deep down
  3. High salary pay
  4. You actually help people gets better
  5. Guaranteed a job once you graduated
  6. You might PROBABLY end up marrying other doctor due to low social interaction with others (tak tahu lah ni pros ke ape. sorry budak2 medic)
  7. It's a hectic job (not for the faint-hearted). haha
  8. A chance of midnight on-call
  9. Drop-out from Carleton and waste the 3 years of studying there + another 6 more medic years
Of being a biotechnologist:
  1. You're currently learning it in Carleton U
  2. You can be a lecturer and lead a normal, less-hectic life
  3. You'll be graduating with the degree, insyaAllah in 2 years time
  4. There'll be 160,000 available job place for the graduates, according to NST, August 10th
  5. "You're the one who choose to go oversea and doing biotech rather than accepting the medic uitm's offer" - mak
  6. You actually, LOVE studying biotech stuffs
  7. Even if sometimes you have no idea what it's all about
  8. "I'm building a biotech factory in Pahang. You can work there and save some money by not going to midvalley" - ayah
  9. Some people don't even know what biotech is and I'm doing such a bad job (a tad only) explaining it to them
  10. You already choose biotechnology 3 years ago and you are going to stick to it and love it as you do now and you'll work hard to succeed in this field and get a good, well-paid job and lead a good, long life. :P
Ohhhh.. Usaha utk menyedapkan hati after meeting with medic uitm students doing their clinical in IJN. Pfftt..

But, thinking back, Allah has His own plan for me. I might not see the better side of it now, but I should remember that what happened mesti ada hikmahnya. I do love learning what I learn now. Biotech I mean. It's just that when you see someone in a place where you always dream of working in the future, terasa semacaaaam.

But I'm all good now. Teehehe.. :) No regrets. Seriously. *insert serious face here*.

On a different note, tomorrow is the 1st of Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah, dapat lagi jumpa Ramadhan. Di Malaysia pulak tu. Mind you, this is my first Ramadhan in Malaysia after 2 years of fasting in Canada (last year balik Canada the day before puasa. Pfft). Semoga Ramadhan this year will be much better than the previous one. InsyaAllah.

p/s: Selamat berpuasa kawan2. Will not forget you in Canada time pergi bazaar ramadhan. hee~
pp/s: seronok sbb insyaAllah malam ni mak kejut bangun sahur. :D

- selamat berpuasa
- selamat tambahkan amal
- selamat kekalkan amal ramadhan to bulan yg bukan ramadhan
- selamat kurang2 kan makan time berbuka.. ^^
